Who does the hosting?

We do. Our software runs on our servers in a top quality server center about 30 minutes from our main office right here in Berlin. Our team of dedicated engineers monitors server and application performance to make sure your web site and tools are available around the clock.

What would my website look like?

One example site  is www.musicpictures.com. However, we are very flexible and can incorporate your own designs and ideas or produce a complete custom design for you. We  frequently collaborate with other designers: they create the graphic design and we implement the propxt technical solution.

Do we need any other software?

Our web and desktop application tools are platform independent so you can carry on using your favorite operating system and picture editing tools. We provide all the specialist tools you need to upload, caption and search for your images, and manage your clients, users, orders, photographers, rights, permissions and all your sales related data. 

How do I make money?

Customers search your website and purchase images from you. Our sites attain good search engine ranking (such as Google) so you will attract new clients and worldwide exposure. 

Do you have an advanced search page?

propxt uses our smartsearch system: a search returns only the most relevant pictures and yet recognizes misspellings and similar words. This is useful for large collections where a user may otherwise become overwhelmed by many thousands of results. Our smartbrowse system also shows related subjects, key words and images so your clients can easily browse your collection. This is especially important when starting to load your collection because users can immediately make the best use of what is uploaded.

Do you provide phone support?

We at propxt are proud to have excellent support services. We offer full phone support services Mo-Fr 11-17:00 CET. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

How do I upload my images?

You can easily upload up to 200 images in one session for immediate website browsing, These images are easily key worded and captioned and we read and write meta data. Once the images are keyworded they can be found using the search engine. The system also allows other authorized photographers or agencies to upload and caption too.

What kind of image protection does propxt provide?

Our system automatically creates watermarked view files, thumb nails, comp and high resolution files from your uploaded master files. You can define who has access to what types of files and can further limit downloads by territory, photographer, logged in user or even at the specific picture level. The system is hierarchical so its very flexible yet doesn't require much data entry. Of course we log all attempted downloads. Your high resolution images are protected by a double layer of firewalls.

What about IPTC and other industry standards?

propxt is fully compliant with the IPTC standards. Our software even learns which fields certain photographers use for different kinds of data so importing files can be really quick and accurate. Our software is fully compliant with other open standards such as ODBC, XML and JDBC.

Can you say a bit more about the watermarks available?

propxt water marks are great not only because they contain your companies logo, but the watermark contains readable data useful to the client: image subject, photographer, pixel size etc. For the high resolution "press" file we put this information underneath the actual image so that clients can see it at a glance. Of course their own image tools such as Photoshop can also read the "file info" / IPTC.
